How Do I Backup and Restore Contacts When Flashing New Custom ROMs?

If you get MD5 mismatch while trying to restoring a ROM in ClockworkMod Recovery, that’s most likely due to the fact that you probably re-named your backup folders. When you re-name backup folders, make sure you don’t add SPACES or other weird characters.

How to fix this? Simply re-name the backup folders so they don’t contain spaces and weird characters. Then try restoring, it should work.

However, if you didn’t re-name them, you probably just have a bad backup.

When I Install Custom ROM, does it Install/Overwrite Kernel?

When I Install Custom ROM, does it Install/Overwrite Kernel?

If you lost data, 3G, or 4G after installing custom ROM, it’s most likely due to APN settings.

Many carriers automatically set the APN settings for you when you install a custom ROM but sometimes this may not happen.

To fix, you simply need to Google your APN settings and input it in your Android smartphone.
